    Abstract:

The study of the characteristics of microphysical parameters of precipitation in different cloud systems is of great significance to the study of precipitation mechanism, weather modification, radar quantitative measurement of precipitation, and the selection of microphysical parameterization schemes in numerical prediction models. Aiming at the liquid precipitation process in Ji'nan city, Shandong Province in 2015, the microphysical parameters of precipitation in different cloud systems were studied based on the Micro Rain Radar(MRR) data. At 400 m altitude, the rainfall intensity samples of stratiform clouds ranged from 0.02 mm/h to 0.2 mm/h were large, but their contribution to the cumulative precipitation was relatively small. The number concentration of large particles in convective and mixed precipitation was higher. In the vertical profile, the particle diameter in stratiform precipitation was relatively concentrated, and average D0 was about 1 mmbelow 1400 m altitude. When the rainfall intensity of convective cloud was greater than 20 mm/h, the vertical airflow (including updraft and downdraft) had a great influence on particle diameter, and the data quality of precipitation parameters retrieved by MRR is poor, especially at upper range gates. Meanwhile, with the minimal?impact of vertical airflow on stratiform precipitation, MRR data can be used to analyze the vertical evolution of raindrop spectrum below bright band when stratiform precipitation occurs.
