    Abstract:

Based on the simulations using the different parameterization schemes in the two models, a series of simulations were conducted and the results indicate the causes of different simulation between two models may result from different parameterization schemes on the vegetation fraction, canopy water, canopy heat flux and canopy radiation transfer, and the parameterization schemes in CoLM are more closer to the reality than those in CLM3.0. After using the corresponding schemes from CoLM, the simulations by CLM3.0 are obviously improved. Moreover, the two models have some common insufficiency in the parameterization schemes, for example, the parameterization schemes of latent heat flux, soil hydrological process, and so on, which may be the causes of the simulation errors in some cases.
